Net Salary Calculator Netherlands 2026

Working out your Dutch take-home pay can be confusing because your gross salary is not the amount that reaches your bank account. Income tax, tax credits, employee pension contributions and holiday allowance all affect the final figure.

This free calculator gives a practical estimate for a typical employee below AOW age. Enter your regular gross monthly salary, working hours and pension contribution. You can also include the standard 8% holiday allowance and switch on an illustrative 30% ruling estimate.

How the Netherlands salary calculation works

The Netherlands uses progressive Box 1 income-tax rates. For 2026, employees below AOW age are taxed at 35.75% up to €38,883, 37.56% from €38,883 to €78,426, and 49.50% above €78,426. Tax credits reduce the final income-tax amount.

Holiday allowance in the Netherlands

Most employees are entitled to at least 8% holiday allowance. It is commonly paid separately, often in May or June. This calculator therefore keeps your regular monthly net separate from the holiday allowance and adds the allowance to the annual calculation.

What about the 30% ruling?

The 30% ruling can allow qualifying employees to receive part of their employment income tax-free. The calculator provides an illustrative estimate only. Eligibility depends on the official conditions and your individual situation, so the toggle should not be treated as an eligibility test.

Frequently asked questions

How much is €3,000 gross in the Netherlands?

Your exact net depends on tax credits, pension and other payroll settings. Use the calculator above for an estimate; the regular monthly headline excludes the holiday allowance.

Is holiday allowance included in the monthly net?

No. The headline monthly net represents regular salary. The standard 8% holiday allowance is shown separately and included in the annual net calculation.

Does the calculator include Dutch tax credits?

Yes. The estimate uses the 2026 general tax credit and employment tax credit formulas for a typical employee below AOW age.

Does the 30% ruling calculator confirm eligibility?

No. It is an illustrative estimate. The official eligibility requirements should be checked separately.

Why can my payslip be different?

Pension schemes, bonuses, benefits, payroll corrections, insurance arrangements and personal circumstances can change the amount actually paid.
