WHY KEEP A COPY

A working sheet for the letter in front of you

The PDF turns the longer guidance into a short document you can save, print and complete beside your own letter. It helps you organise the next step without uploading your contract.

Your figures in one place

Fourteen fillable fields for your basic rent, dates, calculation and next action. Complete them in a PDF viewer or print the worksheet.

A clear checking order

Seven ordered checks help you compare the letter with your contract and the relevant official guidance.

Ready for the next conversation

Keep your notes and the questions you want to ask together when you contact your landlord or seek guidance.

Check the calculation

(New basic rent โˆ’ current basic rent) รท current basic rent ร— 100

A change from โ‚ฌ1,000 to โ‚ฌ1,044 adds โ‚ฌ44, or 4.4%. This is an arithmetic example, not a decision that this increase is allowed for your home.

The PDF has space to write your own result.

Have these documents ready

  • Your contract and annual-increase clause
  • The notice and received/effective dates
  • Your current basic rent and previous increase
  • Separate service-charge and utility amounts

Keep personal documents with you; this page does not ask you to upload them.

Three useful questions for your landlord

  1. Which rental sector and annual-increase rule have you applied?
  2. Which contract clause or proposal supports the change?
  3. Can you provide the breakdown of basic rent, service charges and utilities?

Keep the answers with the letter. Asking questions does not replace a formal objection or filing deadline. Our full Dutch rent increase guide explains the rules and response routes in more detail.

Before you request the PDF

Is it free?

Yes. The Dutch Daily’s checklist is a free two-page English PDF: seven checks on page 1 and a fillable worksheet on page 2.

Which year does it cover?

The current PDF covers 2026 rules checked on 31 October 2026. For an increase starting in 2027, check that year’s official information rather than assuming the 2026 percentages apply.

Will it tell me whether my increase is legal?

It helps you organise the checks and find official guidance. It does not classify your contract or replace a decision by the competent authority.

Will I be added to the newsletter?

The PDF request and the general TDD newsletter are separate choices. You can sign up to the newsletter separately on our site.
